Prym self-erasing trick marker – purple marking for sewing, quilting and embroidery
The Prym self-erasing trick marker (art. no. 611809) is a purple fibre-tip pen for temporary marks on fabric. You can use it to draw seam lines, quilting designs or embroidery patterns that should no longer be visible after sewing, quilting or embroidering. The mark is easy to see and fades by itself, depending on the type of fabric and the surroundings.
This marker has the standard tip. Prym also offers the trick marker with an extra fine tip if you need very thin lines.
Working with the trick marker
The marker suits all light fabrics that are not too dark, as the purple line is hard to see on a dark background. According to Prym, how quickly and how completely the mark disappears depends on the nature of the fabric and the surroundings. So test on a spare piece of fabric before each project to see how the line shows up and how it can be removed again. This applies especially to delicate fabrics and to pieces that will be left lying for a long time.
- Store the marker upright with the tip pointing down. This keeps the ink flowing evenly and stops the tip from drying out.
- Prym describes it as a water-soluble fibre-tip pen.
