Knorr Prandell Teddy wooden bead mix – wooden beads for dummy chains

The Teddy wooden bead mix from Knorr Prandell is a set of 10 blue wooden beads for making your own dummy chains. The beads are made of beech and maple. The hole has a diameter of 2.5 to 3 mm, so you need a thin cord or ribbon that pulls through easily.

Combine the wooden beads with silicone beads, a clip and ribbon to make a chain in your own colours. As the set contains only 10 pieces, it is enough for a single chain or as an addition to beads you already have.

Threading a dummy chain

Choose a cord that is thinner than the 2.5 to 3 mm hole, so that it pulls through the beads without force. After each bead, tie a knot that is larger than the hole, so the beads do not slip and, if the cord breaks, not all the beads come loose. Check the finished chain for cracks in the beads and loose knots before each use.

• Finished dummy chains are subject to the standard DIN EN 12586, which limits the length of the chain to a maximum of 22 cm.
