Glorex Plastic Joint Discs – Movable Arms, Legs and Head

With Glorex joint discs you can make the arms, legs and head of your home-sewn teddy bears and dolls movable. Each plastic safety joint consists of three parts: a joint disc with pin, a washer and a safety disc. The pack contains 5 sets, the number a classic teddy with movable arms, legs and head needs.

Choose the diameter from the options to suit the size of your bear or doll. The larger the toy, the larger the disc should be, so that the joints hold the fabric well.

Fitting the joints

Fit the joints before you stuff the body. Keep the holes in the fabric small so that the pin sits securely.

• Mark the joint position on the limb and the body, and pierce a small hole at this point with an awl or scissors.
• Push the pin of the joint disc through the limb from the inside, so that the disc lies inside.
• Place the limb against the body and push the pin through the body fabric from the inside.
• Slide the washer and then the safety disc onto the pin until the part sits firmly but can still be turned.
• Stuff the body only once all the joints are in place.
