FIMO sanding sponges, set of 3 – three grits for wet sanding and smoothing
The FIMO sanding sponge set of 3 (Staedtler art. no. 8700 08) contains three sanding sponges in fine, extra fine and micro fine grits. You use them to wet-sand and smooth hardened FIMO surfaces. The sponges are easy to wash out and can be used several times.
The sponges have a flexible foam pad. It conforms to round and curved objects such as beads, balls or figures, so you can work curved surfaces evenly too.
How to sand hardened FIMO pieces
Only start sanding once the piece is fully hardened and has cooled down. Dampen the sponge with water and begin with the fine grit to remove bumps, edges and fingerprints. Rinse the piece and the sponge from time to time so that no sanding residue builds up. Then continue with the extra fine grit and finally the micro fine grit until the surface is smooth. Wash out each sponge after use; it can then be used again.
