FIMO Oven Thermometer – checking the baking temperature in your oven

The FIMO oven thermometer by Staedtler (art. no. 8700 22) is designed for hardening FIMO in a domestic oven. Simply place it in the oven, read off the temperature reached and adjust the oven if necessary.

This is useful because the temperature set on the oven does not always match the actual temperature inside. Checking it helps you avoid baking your pieces at too low a temperature, so they do not harden properly, or at too high a temperature. A silicone cover protects against heat after the thermometer has been used in the oven.

Using the thermometer

Before preheating, place the thermometer in the oven on the baking tray or at the same level as your pieces. Wait until the display is steady and compare it with the baking temperature given on the packaging of your modelling clay. If the reading differs, adjust the oven accordingly. After baking, let the thermometer and your pieces cool down first.
