Meyco eco papier-mâché – air-drying dry mix to blend with water

Meyco eco papier-mâché is a dry mix that you blend with water and then model into figures, masks, bowls or decorations. The mixture dries in the air. Once dry, you can paint it or work on it further.

According to Meyco, the mixture is sweat- and saliva-resistant and is made in Germany. It is unbleached and free from chemical additives and preservatives. The 250 g of dry mix is enough for smaller projects, such as animal figures, masks or decorations; for group work, allow for more packs accordingly.

Working with the papier-mâché

The mixing ratio of powder to water depends on the instructions on the pack. What matters is that the mixture is easy to shape after blending and does not stick or crumble.

• Blend the powder with water to a smooth, workable mixture
• For larger figures, use a core of scrunched-up paper or wire and apply the mixture over it
• It is better to work in thin layers: thick layers dry slowly, can stay damp inside and may crack
• Leave the piece to dry completely in the air
• Once fully dry, you can sand, saw, drill, paint or glue things onto it
