Marabu Candle Liner – wax paint for decorating candles

Marabu Candle Liner (now called 'Candle Pen' by Marabu) is a soft, creamy wax paint for painting, writing on and decorating candles. The paint is water-based, odourless and lightfast. You apply it straight from the pen, for example on christening, wedding, birthday or festive candles. Choose your colour from the options.

As it dries, the liquid wax bonds with the candle. According to the manufacturer, many painting techniques are possible: fine lines and lettering, dots, blending areas with a brush or stuck-on motifs.

Decorating your candle

For freehand work, paint or write directly on the candle. You can blend larger areas with a brush. Allow approx. 4–5 hours for drying.

Choosing the right nozzle and film

Marabu nozzles (0.3–0.9 mm) fit liner bottles such as Candle Pen, Pluster Pen, Glitter Pen, Dot Pen and Pearl Pen. They let you control the line width. For the window colour method, according to Marabu, PE or PP film works well, for example special Marabu painting film or clear sleeves. PVC is less suitable or not suitable at all. Test how easily the paint peels off on a small area first.
