MTN Water Based Paint from Montana Colors is a water-based paint in a 200 ml bottle. You can apply it with a brush, dabber or airbrush, or use it to refill markers. The paint is opaque, dries quickly, adheres well and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, according to the manufacturer. Choose your colour from the options; there are 20 colours in total.

All shades can be mixed with one another, so you can create your own tones without switching to another colour family. Diluted with water, it produces glazing effects, according to the manufacturer.

Working with the paint

Stir or shake the bottle well before use so that the pigment and binder combine. Apply the paint with a brush straight from the bottle, or fill in areas with a dabber. When airbrushing, thin the paint with water if needed and rinse the airbrush gun thoroughly with water straight after use, before the paint dries. Because the paint dries quickly, you can build up layers fast. Work in a well-ventilated area.

Mixing and thinning

Since all the colours can be mixed with one another, a small selection of basic tones goes a long way. Mix the shades in a separate container and make a little more than you need, as a second batch rarely matches the shade exactly. Water makes the paint thinner and more transparent. The more you dilute it, the more transparent the gradients; undiluted, it gives stronger coverage.
