Prym Vario Creative Tool – punching holes and setting fasteners

With the Prym Vario Creative Tool (art. no. 390903) you punch holes and fit rivets, eyelets and press studs. Use it to decorate jeans with rivets, fit press studs to babywear, or punch holes for a hoodie drawcord and finish them with eyelets.

The tool comes with four hole punches for 2.5, 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 mm, plus additional tool holders. The power lever has three stages, so you work with much less effort. The adjusting screw lets you fine-tune and limit the force transmitted. According to Prym, the rubber feet and wide base give a secure stand, and the soft-touch handle is ergonomically shaped.

Setting an eyelet or press stud

Mark the position and align the fabric using the lengthways and crossways measures, so that several holes sit at an even distance. Choose the hole punch to match your eyelets or rivets; the size is given on the packaging. Punch the hole, then set the fastener with the matching tool from the Prym "no-sew" range. Start on the lowest power stage and only increase it if necessary. Use the adjusting screw to limit the force so that the fastener is neither too tight nor too loose. Test the hole and fastening on a scrap of fabric first.

Rivets, eyelets, press studs and the matching setting tools are not included. According to Prym, the Vario Creative Tool is compatible with the existing tool sets and fasteners from the Prym "no-sew" range. If you often work in the same place, the optional table clamp (Prym 390 904) keeps the tool steady. It slides into the back of the tool and secures it to the edge of the table.
