The Prym Ergonomics chunky crochet hook set (art. no. 218441) contains 5 crochet hooks in sizes 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 mm. With it you can crochet chunky yarn into scarves, hats, cushions or blankets, and you have the usual hook sizes for thick yarn together in one set.

The hooks are made of high-performance plastic. According to Prym, the stitches in the Ergonomics series glide easily over the shaft and the optimised hook, and the ergonomic handle is designed for fatigue-free crocheting. That helps with thick hooks, as you work with larger stitches and a little more weight in your hand.

Choosing the right hook size

Go by the hook size given in your pattern or on the ball band of your yarn. The set covers the range from 7 to 12 mm, so chunky to super chunky yarn. For finer yarns, Prym also offers the 3.5–6.0 mm set. A small swatch shows whether your stitches come out too tight or too loose. You then simply switch to the next size in the set.

Handle and colour coding

Each hook has a coloured handle which, according to Prym, indicates the hook size. This way you find the right size quickly, without looking for the number on the shaft each time.
