Natural raffia, 50 g – for tying, wrapping and decorating

This bundle of natural-coloured raffia contains 50 g of undyed raffia made from raphia palm fibres, for tying, wrapping and embellishing. In floristry you can use it to tie bouquets and wreaths, as gift ribbon you can wrap parcels, and it also works for decorations and crafts such as tags, dreamcatchers or macramé elements. The light, warm natural colour looks rustic, boho or simply natural.

The length of the individual strands varies, so you cut pieces to suit. The 50 g bundle is the smaller quantity; for larger projects there is a 150 g bundle.

Working with raffia

Raffia is easier to knot and bend if you dampen it briefly; when dry, it can break in tight knots. To tie, lay several strands side by side, wrap them once or twice around the bundle and knot them firmly. For fine work such as small tags, split a strand lengthways into thinner strips. For natural-looking decorations, combine the raffia with dried flowers, wooden decorations or jute ribbon.
