Miyacozome Color Fixing Agent – fixative for dyed textiles
Miyacozome Color Fixing Agent by ITO is a fixative for the final step when dyeing with Miyacozome COLD DYE ALL. You use it to fix the colour on the dyed textile.
50 ml is enough for approx. 1 kg of fabric. This way you can plan the quantity according to the weight of the items you are dyeing.
When you need the fixative
For plant fibres such as cotton or linen, you dye with COLD DYE ALL with added salt and then fix with the Color Fixing Agent. ITO expressly recommends this step. Animal fibres such as silk and wool, on the other hand, are dyed with vinegar only, and no fixing is needed. The Color Fixing Agent is therefore only useful when dyeing plant fibres. You will find the exact application and dosage in the manufacturer's instructions for use.
After dyeing
The colour cannot be fixed perfectly. Wash dyed textiles separately from other items so that nothing is stained by colour transfer. Rubber gloves are recommended when working with dye and dye liquor.
