LAMY Z28 Converter – fill your fountain pen from a bottle of ink

The LAMY Z28 converter is a refillable ink cartridge for LAMY fountain pens. You fit it just like a standard LAMY cartridge and use it to fill your fountain pen from a bottle of ink. This lets you choose any ink colour you like, without having to wait for cartridges.

According to LAMY, the Z28 fits the abc, safari, vista, joy, AL-star, Lx, nexx and nexx M ranges. It is compact (72 mm long, 2 g) and, according to LAMY, made in Germany.

Filling the converter

The converter replaces the cartridge and draws ink up through the nib.

• Push the converter into the fountain pen like a LAMY cartridge
• Dip the nib, including the opening, into the bottle of ink
• Turn the converter until it has drawn in the ink
• Finally, turn it back slightly to let a little ink out so that any air bubbles escape

Z28 or Z27?

The Z28 is intended for the ranges listed above. For other LAMY models such as imporium, dialog, accent, logo, aion, st, cp 1, studio and scala, there is the Z27 converter. The two are not interchangeable, so check the model of your fountain pen before buying.
