LAMY T51 ink – bottle with ink reservoir for refilling

LAMY T51 is a water-based fountain pen ink in a 30 ml bottle, for refilling fountain pens with a converter and the LAMY 2000 piston filler. The bottle has an ink reservoir: the last of the ink collects in it, so you can still dip the nib right to the end when the level is low. A plastic base keeps the bottle steady on your desk. The ink comes in black, blue and red. Choose your colour from the options.

According to LAMY, the inks are water-based and vegan and are made in Heidelberg. Measuring 51 × 51 × 51 mm, the bottle fits easily next to a desk pad and notebook.

How to refill your pen

With a fountain pen with a converter, dip the nib fully into the ink and turn the converter until it fills. With a piston filler such as the LAMY 2000, also dip the nib and draw the ink up with the turning knob. Then wipe the nib with a paper towel so that no drops get into the pen or onto the cap.

Ink reservoir: fill cleanly to the last drop

When the ink level in the bottle gets low, tilt it slightly so that the remaining ink collects in the reservoir. The nib then dips into a deeper spot rather than just a thin film of ink on the bottom of the bottle. Always close the bottle again after filling so that the ink does not thicken or get dirty.
