Glorex beeswax pastilles – for pouring, dipping and coating candles

Glorex beeswax is natural, pure beeswax in pastille form for homemade candles. You can pour candles from real beeswax, dip them in several layers or coat existing candles with a layer of wax. The pastilles are easy to measure out and, thanks to their small size, melt evenly.

The beeswax can also be added to wax granules, where it is used as a fragrance additive at around 10 %. The melting point is approx. 64 °C, so plan your working temperature accordingly.

Working with the beeswax

Heat the pastilles in a water bath, not directly on the hob or over an open flame. This keeps the temperature even and stops the wax from overheating. Wax is flammable, so never leave it unattended while melting.

• Pouring: pour the liquid wax into a mould with the wick already threaded and leave to cool completely.
• Dipping: dip the wick several times, letting it cool in between, until the candle reaches the thickness you want.
• Coating: briefly dip an existing candle into the liquid wax.
• With wax granules: mix in about 10 % beeswax.
