Rico Design large heart candle mould – cast heart candles in soft silicone

The large heart candle mould from Rico Design is a silicone mould for casting heart candles measuring 70 x 75 x 35 mm. The soft silicone keeps things simple: you just push the finished candle out of the flexible mould. According to Rico Design, the instructions are printed on the packaging. The mould is heat-resistant up to 230 °C, and you need approx. 72 g of wax per candle, so you can easily work out your quantity in advance.

Note the difference between the dimensions: the candle measures 70 x 75 x 35 mm, while the mould itself measures 86 x 78 x 43 mm. Allow for the larger measurement when planning space on your work surface.

Casting your heart candle

Casting takes just a few steps. Cut the wick generously so that it extends beyond the top edge.

• Position the wick centrally above the mould, for example on a stick laid across the opening.
• Pour the liquid wax up to the top edge, making sure the wick stays central.
• Leave the wax to set completely before removing the candle.
• Then push the candle out of the flexible mould.

Good to know

Wax shrinks as it cools, so a small dip may form around the wick. If needed, top it up with a little wax before the candle has fully hardened.
