Glorex wax granules 1000 g – candle wax for moulding and dipping
Glorex wax granules are a paraffin-based candle wax in pellet form, made specially for candle making. At 1000 g, you have enough for several moulding or dipping projects. The pellets are easy to weigh out and melt. The wax is white to colour-neutral, so it can be coloured, for example with wax colour pigments or coloured modelling wax, and scented.
The melting point is 54 °C. You can use the granules for moulding, for example in moulds or containers, and for dipping to make dipped candles.
Making candles with the granules
Melt the pellets slowly in a bain-marie, never directly on the hob. Make sure no water gets into the liquid wax. Colour and scent the wax while it is liquid and stir well. The wick should suit the size of the candle and sit in the centre before you pour the wax into the mould or heat-resistant container. Wax shrinks as it cools: you can fill the hollow around the wick later with a little liquid wax.
Mixing with stearin
The granules are suitable for mixing with candle stearin. Stearin generally makes candles firmer and can improve the surface. For moulded candles in silicone moulds, this helps if you want the candles to be easier to remove later. Try the mixing ratio on a small candle first.
