Glorex white beeswax pellets – for candles, natural cosmetics and care
Glorex white beeswax is pure beeswax in pellet form. You can use it for candle making, for homemade natural cosmetics such as salves and lip balm, for beeswax wraps and for wood care. There is no need to chop the small pellets: you can weigh out even small amounts accurately, and they melt quickly. According to Glorex, the wax is food-safe.
The wax is gently purified and contains no additives. The melting point is 61–65 °C. That matters when you work with it: you do not need high temperatures, and the melted wax should never be heated more than necessary.
Using the pellets
Always melt the wax in a double boiler (bain-marie) and not directly on the hob. Make sure no water gets into the liquid wax, and never leave the melted wax unattended.
- Candles: melt the wax, pour it into a container or mould, hold a suitable wick in the centre and let the wax cool completely.
- Natural cosmetics: melt the pellets together with oils or butter and fill the mixture into tins or tubes before it sets, for example for salves or lip balm.
- Beeswax wraps: sprinkle the pellets evenly onto a cotton cloth, lay baking paper over the top and spread the wax with an iron.
- Wood: apply the wax thinly and polish once it has dried slightly.
