The Faber-Castell Pitt Oil Base artists' pencil in the colour 188 Sanguine is a greasy, oil-based drawing pencil. Use it for contours, outlines and fine detail drawings, for example in pastel drawings and sketches. According to Faber-Castell, the lines are smudge-proof and waterproof, so they stay in place when you later blend next to them or work with water.

The lead is 4.3 mm thick and colour-stable against fixatives. You can therefore fix the finished drawing without the shade of the lines changing.

Using the pencil
