Prym Fair Isle Knitting Thimble – two yarns neatly guided
The Prym Fair Isle knitting thimble (art. no. 624144) is a yarn guide made of stainless spring steel for two-colour knitting, such as Norwegian patterns, Fair Isle and other stranded colourwork. It has two opposite metal eyelets, through which you guide two yarns of different colours side by side.
The ring is spiral-shaped and free of burrs. It adapts to your finger and sits securely without you having to hold it in place. Because both yarns run separately, they are less likely to tangle while you knit.
Working with the knitting thimble
Slip the ring onto the finger over which you guide the yarns. Then thread one yarn through each of the two eyelets. Both colours now lie side by side, and depending on the pattern you bring one or the other colour to the needle. Do not pull the yarns too tight on the wrong side of the work, otherwise the pattern will pucker.
What it is suitable for
The knitting thimble is intended for stranded colourwork in two colours, for example classic or modern Norwegian patterns and Fair Isle work. You do not need it for single-colour knitting.
