Prym Knitting Thimble – Yarn Guide for Colourwork Knitting

The Prym knitting thimble with 4 yarn guides (art. no. 624147) keeps up to four strands of yarn separate as you feed them to the knitting needle in colourwork. The strands run through the eyelets on top of the thimble and do not tangle. This lets you knit Fair Isle and other stranded colourwork patterns in up to four colours.

A slit at the side gives a comfortable fit and a secure hold on slim and broad fingers alike. Above the eyelets there is a catch that you can open to change the order of the strands, even while you are knitting.

Using the knitting thimble

Open the catch above the eyelets and place each strand in its own eyelet. Close the catch again and slip the thimble onto the finger of the hand that guides the yarn. Sort the colours in the order you need them before threading them in, and thread them in the same order at each change. This helps stop the strands twisting. If you want to change the order, open the catch, swap the strands and close it again.
