Prym Chalk Pencil Lead Set 3.8 mm with Holder

Prym Chalk Lead Set – Holder, 16 Chalk Leads and Sharpener

With the Prym chalk lead set (art. no. 610846) you can mark, write and draw on almost any surface, for example when sewing, quilting, crafting and model making. The set contains a refillable chalk lead holder, 8 white and 8 assorted coloured chalk leads, each 3.8 mm thick, and a matching sharpener. The holder comes fitted with a white lead from the factory, so you can start straight away.

The holder gives you not only precise lines but also accurate point markings, for example for darts, buttonholes or drilling points. According to Prym, the leads are economical in use and packed to protect them in transit.

Changing the lead and keeping the tip sharp

Press the button at the top end of the holder: the gripping mechanism releases the lead and you can change it, for example from white to a coloured lead. White leads show up well on dark fabrics, while the coloured ones suit light backgrounds. When the tip gets blunt, sharpen it with the sharpener supplied. For fine lines you need a pointed lead; for point markings, hold the holder upright and press down lightly.

Test before use

As materials and surfaces react differently, try the marking first on an offcut or an inconspicuous spot. That way you can see how clearly the line shows and how easily it can be removed later.
