Rayher silicone mould Happy Spring – 8 Easter designs for casting

The "Happy Spring" silicone mould from Rayher (art. no. 36137000) has eight Easter designs: a bird, an Easter egg, a lop-eared rabbit, a rabbit, a round pendant with the "Happy Spring" lettering, a house, and a small and a large carrot. You can use it to cast decorative pendants from creative concrete, Raysin or casting resin. According to Rayher, the silicone is extremely flexible and keeps its shape, so the hardened pieces are easy to remove from the mould.

The mould measures 14.5 × 26 cm and is 1 cm high; each design is 9 mm deep. At the top of each cavity there are small pegs that form hanging holes when you cast. Once the pieces have hardened, you can paint them.

Casting the designs

Rinse the mould with water before first use. According to Rayher, you do not need a release agent such as oil. Place the mould on a level surface so that the designs come out an even thickness, then fill with the casting compound. Leave it to harden thoroughly before demoulding. The stretchy silicone then releases the pieces easily. You can fill the designs to different heights, depending on whether you want flat pendants or chunkier figures.

Which casting compound to use

Rayher lists creative concrete, creative concrete 5in1, jewellery concrete, Raysin 200 and casting resin for this mould. For all the designs together, Rayher gives a material requirement of approx. 190 g of concrete or approx. 150 g of Raysin 200. This helps you estimate the quantity before mixing.

Cleaning and care

Clean the mould with water and a little washing-up liquid. This keeps it in shape so you can use it again and again.
