Rayher Silicone Mould Light Houses – 4 House Silhouettes for Casting

The Rayher Light Houses silicone mould contains four house silhouettes in different sizes, which you can use to cast Christmas decorations from craft concrete, jewellery concrete, Raysin casting powder, casting resin or wax. The silicone is flexible and keeps its shape, and once dry the cast houses are easy to remove from the mould.

The four houses measure 4 × 10 cm, 6.5 × 9 cm, 3.4 × 6.5 cm and 3.4 × 5.5 cm (length × height). This lets you cast a small group of houses of different heights from a single mould. According to Rayher, the silicone is resistant to frost and heat from -40 °C to +240 °C.

Casting the houses

Place the mould on a level surface so that the houses come out even, and mix the casting compound according to the instructions on the packaging. Fill the cavities evenly and tap the mould gently so that air bubbles rise to the surface. You can fill the houses to different heights, depending on how solid you want them to be. Leave the compound to harden completely before demoulding. Then gently flex the silicone rather than pulling on the house, so that narrow edges and roofs do not break off.

Material requirements and care

Rayher gives the material requirements as, for example, approx. 330 g of jewellery concrete or Creative Concrete 5in1, or approx. 280 g of Raysin 200. After casting, clean the mould with water and a little washing-up liquid if needed. It keeps its shape and can be reused. Do not use a mould that you have cast in for food again. The Light Houses No. 2 set contains four other houses, should you wish to extend your group.
