Rayher Silicone Mould Lichthäuser No. 2 – four house silhouettes for casting

The Rayher silicone mould Lichthäuser No. 2 forms four house silhouettes for free-standing decorations. You can cast them in creative concrete, jewellery concrete, Raysin casting powder, casting resin or wax. The mould measures 14.5 × 26 × 1.7 cm and contains four houses of different sizes.

According to Rayher, the silicone is extremely elastic, keeps its shape and is resistant to frost and heat from -40 °C to +240 °C. Once dry, the casting compound comes easily out of the flexible mould, and you can use the mould again and again.

Casting the houses

Mix the casting compound as directed on the packaging and fill the cavities on a level surface. Tapping gently lets air bubbles rise to the surface. According to Rayher, you can fill the cavities to different heights, so the houses come out flatter or more solid. Leave the compound to dry through completely before pressing the silhouettes out of the mould. To clean the mould, use water and a little washing-up liquid if needed; this keeps it in shape.

Quantity needed and choosing a mould

For all four houses, allow approx. 490 g of creative concrete (also creative concrete 5in1) or approx. 440 g of Raysin 200, according to Rayher. Lichthäuser No. 2 contains one wide house (9.9 × 9.0 cm) and one tall, narrow one (4.1 × 12.1 cm). The mould “Lichthäuser” without a number has different houses up to 10 cm tall. You can combine both moulds to make a winter landscape.

Not suitable for food. Once concrete, casting resin or wax has been used in a mould, do not use it for food again.
