HobbyFun silicone vase mould – small casting mould for decorative vases

With the HobbyFun silicone vase mould, you can cast small decorative vases yourself, for example from plaster, concrete, Keraflott, Jesmonite, soap or candle wax. The finished vase measures approx. 4.8 × 3.9 × 9.8 cm, a small size for home accessories and gifts.

The flexible silicone is easy to demould once the material has set, and the mould can be reused. This means you can cast several identical vases and finish each one differently.

Casting the vase

Stand the mould on a level surface so the vase comes out straight. Mix the casting compound according to the instructions on the packaging and pour it in slowly. Tap the mould lightly so that air bubbles rise to the surface. Leave the compound to set completely before demoulding. Then gently squeeze the silicone from the outside and ease the vase out. For Keraflott relief casting compound, use approx. 218 g powder and 73 g water as a guide.

Caring for the mould

After demoulding, clean the silicone mould with water and a little washing-up liquid if needed. Let it dry before you use it again.

You will also need: casting compound of your choice (e.g. plaster, concrete, Keraflott, Jesmonite, soap or candle wax), plus a container and a stirrer for mixing

Depending on the colour of the casting compound, the silicone may become discoloured. The mould may look misshapen because of the packaging; any distortion can be corrected with hot water and gentle massaging. Once you have used a mould for soap, plaster, concrete or casting resin, do not use it for food again.
