URSUS pattern paper – highly transparent paper for tracing sewing patterns
With URSUS pattern paper you can trace sewing patterns from magazines and pattern sheets onto your own paper without cutting up the original. The pack contains 5 sheets measuring 100 x 150 cm, 7.5 m² in total. At 40 g/m², the paper is thin and highly transparent: you can see the lines of the pattern sheet through it and trace them directly.
The sheets are folded to 25 x 37.5 cm, so they take up little space in a drawer or sewing box. The paper is free from salt and acid.
How to trace a sewing pattern
Smooth out the folded sheet and lay it over the pattern sheet. Secure both layers with pins or adhesive tape so nothing slips. Then trace the lines for your size with a soft pencil. Also transfer the grainline, notches, seam allowances and pattern piece name, otherwise they will be missing when you cut out. Then cut out the pieces. The original sheets stay intact, so you can trace a different size later.
Sheet size
One sheet measures 100 x 150 cm. Even large pieces such as trouser, skirt or coat patterns can usually be traced in one piece. As the paper is thin, press only lightly when drawing so that it does not tear.
