Canson Sketchbook A4 140 gsm, 20 Sheets, Stapled Sketchpad

Canson Sketchbook A4 – stapled sketchbook with 20 sheets

The Canson Sketchbook A4 is a stapled sketchbook with 20 sheets (40 pages) for sketches and drawings in the studio or on the go. The natural white paper is 140 g/m² with a light grain. According to Canson, it is suitable for pencil, coloured pencil and felt-tip pen, and the manufacturer also lists charcoal as a use.

The paper is acid-free and free of optical brighteners, and FSC®-certified. The soft cover in black Iris®-Vivaldi® paper protects the pages in your bag. At 21 × 29.7 cm, the format offers enough room for larger studies and is still easy to carry.

What the sketchbook is suited to

The light grain takes graphite, coloured pencil pigment and charcoal well, so you can draw fine lines or shade larger areas. For very wet techniques such as watercolour, choose a paper with a higher weight, as 140 g/m² can cockle with a lot of water. You can secure charcoal and pencil drawings with fixative so that they do not smudge when you turn the pages.

Which size to choose

This sketchbook is also available in the series in other sizes, such as A3 and A5. A4 is a good middle ground: it has room for complete motifs and still fits in most drawing bags. According to Canson, all sizes have the same format of 20 sheets.
