Copic Multiliner black – waterproof fineliner for underdrawing and sketching
The black Copic Multiliner is a fineliner with waterproof pigment ink for sketches, underdrawings and pure line drawings. The ink is matched to the Copic marker system: according to Copic, underdrawings do not bleed even after repeated colouring over with Copic markers. You get a single pen; choose the line width from the options.
According to Copic, drawn lines are copy-proof and smudge-proof, and resistant to UV light. The sharp, even lines are also well suited to copying or scanning drawings, whether you colour them later or leave them as line drawings.
Working with Copic markers
Draw first with the Multiliner and let the ink dry completely before colouring with Copic markers. The line will then hold even under several layers of marker and will not run. Smooth marker or layout paper gives the cleanest lines. Test the combination with your paper first on a scrap piece.
Choosing the line width
The Multiliner range comes in 8 line widths, including 2 brush tips. Fine tips are intended for details, thin outlines and technical sketches, thicker tips for bold outlines. The brush tips produce soft strokes with varying line width. With the very fine tips, use light pressure, otherwise the tip may bend.
