Hahnemühle masking tape 15 mm – clean edges for watercolour
With Hahnemühle masking tape in 15 mm width, you can mask off a border or blank areas of your picture when painting in watercolour. According to the manufacturer, the tape does not let water through and can be painted over with watercolour paints. Afterwards it peels off cleanly without leaving residue and leaves crisp edges of colour. The tape is made of rice paper, and the roll is 20 m long.
Hahnemühle recommends the tape for surface-sized papers. For other painting surfaces, stick it on a test patch in an inconspicuous spot first.
Using the tape
The steps are intended for masking off a border or an area.
- Fixing the paper: Stick the tape onto the dry paper and press the edges down firmly so that no paint runs underneath.
- Painting: You can paint right over the tape, as it can be painted over.
- Removing: Wait until the paint is completely dry. Peel the tape off slowly and at a low angle, not with a sudden jerk.
15 mm or 25 mm?
The 15 mm roll suits narrow borders and fine masked areas. For a wider white border around the motif, the tape is also available in 25 mm width, likewise 20 m long.
