CLOVER Double-Sided Basting Tape – holds fabric layers without pins
The CLOVER Double-Sided Basting Tape (art. no. 9505) holds two layers of fabric together temporarily, so you don't need pins when sewing. According to Clover, it sticks quickly and easily to fabric, paper and wood, and according to Clover USA also to plastic, so it suits crafting as well as sewing.
After you have sewn the hem or edges, the basting tape does not need to be removed. The roll is 12 mm wide and 7 m long.
How to use the basting tape
Instead of fixing fabrics with pins, you stick them together with the tape. This is handy for hems, edges and layers that slip easily while sewing.
- Apply the adhesive side to the required spot on the first layer.
- Peel off the backing paper.
- Stick on the second layer of fabric, paper, plastic or wood and press down.
- Then sew as usual; the tape stays in the seam.
