Canson XL Extra-Blanc sketchbook, 90 gsm, extra white, spiral-bound

Canson XL Extra-Blanc – extra white spiral-bound sketchbook with perforated sheets

The Canson XL Extra-Blanc is a sketchbook with extra white drawing paper (90 g/m²) for sketches and studies in pencil, charcoal, chalk, pastel and sanguine. The spiral binding is at the top of the short side, and a sturdy backboard gives support while you draw.

The sheets are perforated. You can tear them out cleanly without damaging the pad, so it suits school, college or drawing on the go. Choose your size from the options. The number of sheets per pad varies by size.

What the sketchbook is used for

The 90 g/m² paper is a classic sketching paper for dry techniques. It works well for studies, designs and quick drawings. It is too thin for watercolour or very wet paints, as it will cockle. Charcoal and pastel smudge easily, so fix finished sheets with fixative or place a divider sheet in between.

Tearing out sheets

The perforation is on the spiral side. Fold the sheet over and detach it along the perforation, pulling slowly and evenly. This keeps the edges clean and the remaining sheets in the binding.
