Gütermann Sulky Holoshimmer is a holographic metallic effect thread for machine embroidery and decorative seams. Thanks to the holographic coating, the thread sparkles strongly. It works particularly well for embroidery designs with wide satin-stitch areas and low stitch density. The spool holds 200 m, and the thickness is No. 40 (dtex 190(1)).

Choose your colour from the options. The thread belongs to series 709948 and suits clothing, accessories and home textiles whenever a motif or a decorative seam should stand out.

Uses

The glitter effect shows best when the thread has room to spread: in wide satin stitches with low stitch density, plenty of thread lies exposed on the surface and reflects the light. In very dense embroidery the effect is less pronounced. For decorative stitches and seams, use the thread when individual lines or edges should catch the eye.

Stitching with Holoshimmer

According to the manufacturer, the recommended needle is a metallic machine embroidery needle NM 80–90. It has a larger eye, so the effect thread runs through more easily. Metallic threads usually run more smoothly if you slow the embroidery speed down a little. A test piece on your own fabric will show you beforehand how the motif and thread work together.
