Noro Tensan – silk and wool gradient yarn for knitting and crochet

Noro Tensan is a yarn made from 68% silk and 32% wool, for shawls, scarves, jumpers and cardigans, which you can knit or crochet. The silk gives the yarn its natural sheen, the wool its warm structure. The name comes from Japanese and means "silkworm".

Each ball weighs 150 g and has a length of approx. 300 m. This makes it easy to plan the quantity for larger projects, as you will usually need several balls for a jumper. The yarn has a colour gradient: the colours blend smoothly into one another, so the transitions are built into the yarn itself. Choose your colour from the options.

Knitting and crochet with Tensan

Tensan is a worsted weight yarn and works up quickly. According to the manufacturer, it is recommended for needles of 4.5–5.5 mm, with a tension of 16–20 stitches over 10 cm. In crochet (double crochet) it is 11 stitches over 10 cm. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. As the colour gradient can differ from ball to ball, it is best to buy the quantity you need in one go.
