Prym ALU Crochet Hook Set, Coloured, 2.5–5.0 mm

Prym ALU Crochet Hook Set – 5 Coloured Aluminium Crochet Hooks from 2.5 to 5 mm

The Prym ALU crochet hook set contains five colour-coded aluminium crochet hooks in sizes 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4 and 5 mm. That gives you the right hook to hand for yarns from fine to medium weight. According to Prym, the hooks have a neatly shaped head and an extremely smooth surface. The yarn glides well, and the stitches come out particularly even.

According to Prym, the colours tell the individual hook sizes apart. So you can quickly pick up the right hook when you need different sizes for the tension swatch, the edging and the main part. The hooks are only available as a set, not individually.

Which hook for which yarn?

According to Handicraft by Prym, the hooks are particularly suitable for projects in fine yarn. The set covers the range from 2.5 to 5 mm in half and whole millimetre steps, so you do not have to buy a hook separately for every project. The size to use is usually given on the ball band of your yarn or in your pattern.

Checking the hook size

Crochet a swatch before starting your project and measure the tension. If the piece is too loose, take the next size down from the set; if it is too tight, take the next size up. Aluminium hooks with a smooth surface let the yarn glide well, which helps especially with smooth yarns and an even stitch appearance.
