Ricorumi Nilli Nilli – soft chenille yarn for amigurumi

Ricorumi Nilli Nilli from Rico Design is a 100 % polyester chenille yarn for amigurumi, figures and accessories. According to the manufacturer, the texture is super fluffy, with a matt sheen and a dense chenille structure. Crocheted or knitted animals and dolls get a velvety, cuddly surface. One ball weighs 25 g and has a length of 65 m. That works out at about 260 m per 100 g, so you can compare the yarn with other yarns and better estimate the quantity needed for small figures.

Working with Nilli Nilli

The chenille structure makes individual stitches harder to see than with a smooth yarn. For amigurumi, it helps to mark the start of the round with a stitch marker and to count the stitches in each round. Crochet or knit with the 3 mm needle size given by the manufacturer. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. With chenille, unravelled yarn is harder to reuse because the fibres suffer when pulled. Work the beginning and end of your figure carefully and only undo short sections.

Care

Wash Nilli Nilli at 30 °C on a delicate or wool cycle, according to the manufacturer. Do not bleach, do not tumble dry and do not iron. Dry cleaning with perchloroethylene or hydrocarbons is possible.
