Go Handmade Bohème Velvet FINE – soft chenille yarn for knitting and crochet

Bohème Velvet FINE by Go Handmade is a chenille yarn made from 100 % polyester for knitting and crochet. It contains no wool. The surface is velvety soft, which gives the fabric a smooth, even look. The yarn is a plain colour; choose your colour from the options.

One ball weighs 50 g and has a length of approx. 190 m, which equals approx. 380 m per 100 g. You can use this figure to estimate the yarn requirements for your project from the metre count in your pattern. For amigurumi and accessories such as hats, headbands or cushions, you get a soft, plush look.

Working with Bohème Velvet FINE

With needle size 2.5–3.5 mm you get approx. 30 stitches over 10 cm, according to the manufacturer. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. Chenille yarn is difficult to unravel because the fibres catch when pulled back. Work steadily and evenly, count stitches as you go on patterned pieces and pull the yarn out slowly when unravelling. With a plain-colour yarn, smooth stitches and simple textures show to best effect.

Care

The yarn is machine washable at 40 °C and should not be tumble dried. It is best to dry finished items flat so that they keep their shape.
