Staedtler Mars plastic – low-crumb eraser

The Staedtler Mars plastic (art. no. 526 50) is an eraser for cleanly removing pencil and colouring pencil marks from paper and matt drafting film. According to Staedtler, it crumbles very little and erases very well with minimal wear. That means fewer eraser crumbs to brush off the sheet, and one eraser lasts longer.

The sliding card sleeve fits around the eraser as a grip. It is phthalate-free and latex-free, which matters if you want to avoid latex. A PP protective film with a tear strip covers it until first use and opens without scissors.

Erasing cleanly

Hold the paper still with your free hand and erase in one direction with light pressure. With heavy pressure or vigorous back-and-forth rubbing, the paper creases or roughens more easily. Once the erasing edge is worn, slide the sleeve back a little and carry on with a fresh edge. Brush the crumbs off the sheet with your hand so nothing smudges.
