Staedtler Noris 120 HB-2 – wooden pencil for school, office and sketching

The Staedtler Noris 120 is a hexagonal wooden pencil in hardness HB (manufacturer's number 120-2) for writing and drawing at school, in the office and in your free time. You get a single pencil in the classic yellow and black finish.

The lead is bonded firmly to the wood, which makes it particularly break-resistant. The pencil is easy to erase and can be sharpened with any good sharpener. The wood comes from PEFC-certified forestry, the pencil is made from reclaimed wood shavings and it is manufactured in Germany.

What HB hardness is suited to

HB is a medium-hard lead, sitting between soft and hard grades. It writes clearly and legibly without smudging as quickly as a soft lead. That makes the Noris 120 suitable for exercise books, notes and office work as well as for light sketches and preliminary drawings. The pencil is suitable for left- and right-handers.

Things to bear in mind

As the pencil has no eraser, you will need a separate eraser for corrections. Sharpen it with a sharp sharpener so the lead does not break out and the wood is cut cleanly.
