Marabu Window Color fun & fancy – peel-off window paint for glass, mirrors and tiles

Marabu Window Color fun & fancy is a transparent, peel-off, water-based paint for window pictures and designs on smooth surfaces. You paint your design on a painting sheet, leave it to dry and peel it off as a finished picture. According to Marabu, it then sticks by itself to glass, mirrors, porcelain and tiles.

The paint dries to a high-gloss finish. It looks milky at first and becomes transparent as it dries, so light shines through the picture. According to the manufacturer, it is lightfast and can be removed easily without leaving residue. As the picture can be peeled off and repositioned at any time, it works well for changing decorations. The bottle with applicator tip contains 80 ml. Choose your colour from the options.

Making your window picture

You do not paint directly on the window but on a sheet. This makes the design independent of the surface, so you can position it later.

• Place the template under a transparent PP or PE painting sheet.
• Trace the outlines with an outliner paint. The lines must be closed, otherwise the paint will run.
• Leave the outlines to dry for 1–2 hours.
• Fill in the design generously up to the outlines.
• The paint is dry after 24 hours. Carefully peel the picture off the sheet and apply it to a smooth surface such as window glass.

Notes on surfaces and adhesion

On pale plastic and wood, for example PVC, acrylic, doors and roof or caravan windows, the picture may discolour the surface or may no longer peel off. Apply or remove the picture only at moderate temperatures, otherwise it may distort or tear. If adhesion weakens, moisten the picture from the back. To remove a picture that has been stuck on for a long time, moisten it first or warm it with a hairdryer. Wash stains out of textiles straight away with soap and lukewarm water; dried-in stains can hardly be removed.
