EFCO Blue Glass Animal Eyes – to Sew onto Amigurumi and Teddies

The EFCO animal eyes with loop are blue glass eyes with a metal wire loop for amigurumi, homemade teddy bears, soft toys and dolls. Glass reflects the light and gives the face a lively expression. You sew the loop on firmly, so once attached the eye stays exactly where you placed it.

The eyes come in different diameters. The smaller sizes suit mini animals and delicate faces, while larger eyes give teddies and soft toys more expression. The number of pieces depends on the size: up to 12 mm the pack contains 4 pieces, at 14 mm 2 pieces. You need two eyes for one face. Choose the size from the options.

Sewing on the eyes

First pin the eyes to the head with pins and check the spacing and direction of the gaze. Even a few millimetres' difference changes the expression noticeably. Then pass a strong thread through the loop several times and stitch through the head to the opposite side or to the back of the neck. Pull tight and knot the thread securely there. On amigurumi, it is best to attach the eyes before you close the head, as you can then reach the back easily.

Note on use

Glass eyes with a wire loop suit collectors' pieces, decoration and soft toys for adults. For soft toys for babies and small children, embroidered eyes are the safer choice.
