DMC Mouliné Light Effects 317W – polyester effect embroidery thread

DMC Mouliné Light Effects 317W (Effet Lumière) is a 100% polyester effect embroidery thread that gives your embroidery a special finish. The thread is made up of 6 individual strands and is stitched like classic stranded cotton. One skein has a length of 8 m.

You can use the thread for cross stitch and all other embroidery stitches, on its own or together with cotton thread. Choose your colour from the options.

Working with the thread

As the thread consists of 6 individual strands, you can separate it and stitch with fewer strands, depending on the stitch and fabric. Polyester thread can fray during stitching, so use shorter lengths of about 30 cm. A loop knot at the eye of the needle reduces friction.

Planning quantities

One skein has 8 m. That is plenty for small accents and details. For larger areas you will need several skeins. It is best to allow a little extra and to stitch all the skeins for one motif in the same colour.
