UHU Creativ Fabric, Felt & Ribbons – quick-drying solvent-free glue
With UHU Creativ special adhesive for fabric, felt & ribbons you can glue textiles, felt and ribbons, also in combination with many other materials. The adhesive is solvent-free, dries quickly and becomes transparent once dry. So it does not show on light-coloured fabrics and ribbons.
According to UHU, the adhesive film stays very flexible and is resistant to light and ageing. Once ironed, the bond is resistant to washing and cleaning. This matters when you attach appliqués, ribbons or trimmings to clothing or bags. As well as fabric, felt and ribbons, you can also glue wool, wadding, pompoms, pipe cleaners and cords with it. Typical projects are dolls, soft toys, puppets, silk flowers, bags, greetings cards, book covers, table and room decorations, collages and ribbon ornaments.
How to glue fabric, felt and ribbons
Check the packaging for ironing settings.
- Apply the adhesive thinly with a brush or spatula. In most cases, applying it to one side is enough.
- Join the parts straight away or after less than 5 minutes' drying time, and press together.
- If the bond is to be ironed, wait about 30 minutes.
- Close the tube tightly after use so the adhesive does not dry out.
What it is suitable for
The glue is intended for textile and soft craft materials. It works best on fabric, felt, ribbons, wool, wadding, pompoms, pipe cleaners and cords. According to UHU, combinations with many other materials are also possible. For delicate or very absorbent fabrics, test on a hidden area first. That way you can see how the adhesive soaks in and whether the spot stays visible.
