Prym Sock Gauge – Ruler for Tension and Sock Length

The Prym sock gauge (art. no. 610738) is a flexible plastic ruler for measuring your tension and checking how far your knitting has progressed, for example when knitting socks. At 205 × 50 mm it is handy and fits into any project bag. The scale shows centimetres and inches. A needle gauge is built in.

Useful when knitting: the ruler has cut-outs where you can attach stitch markers. The additional holder takes a slip of paper, for example with the stitch or row count, and can also be used as a bookmark for your pattern.

Using the gauge

Lay the ruler flat on your knitted tension swatch without stretching it, and count the stitches and rows over 10 cm. This shows whether your needle size matches the pattern. When knitting socks, hold the gauge against your work and check the length reached before you start the heel or toe. Use the needle gauge to determine the size of needles that have no marking.
