Araucania Huasco Sock Kettle Dyes is a fine sock yarn made from 75% superwash merino wool and 25% nylon, hand-dyed by Peruvian artisans. The nylon content is 100% recycled nylon and makes socks more hard-wearing. The superwash finish is practical for socks that are washed often.

One skein weighs 100 g and has a length of 401 m, so you can easily work out the yarn requirements of your pattern. The yarn is multi-ply and is fingering weight (sock yarn). Choose your colour from the options.

Using Huasco Sock

Fingering is the classic sock weight. With needles of 2.25–3.25 mm you can knit everyday socks from it. The skein is also suitable for shawls, wrist warmers or accessories in a fine stitch texture. As the yarn is dyed by hand, the colour looks lively and not completely even. This shows up especially in areas worked in stocking stitch.

Knitting tips

Knit the socks on double-pointed needles or a short circular needle in the size given in your pattern. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. With hand-dyed yarn, skeins can differ slightly in colour. If you need several skeins for one project, it is best to alternate between two skeins so that no visible colour changes appear.
