Clover Wonder Clips – fabric clips as an alternative to pins

Clover Wonder Clips are fabric clips that replace pins when sewing, quilting and crafting. The set contains 10 clips in assorted colours. The wide opening holds several layers of fabric securely together. According to Clover, the clips are particularly suitable for vinyl, pile fabrics and heavy fabrics. You can also hold laminated fabrics, faux leather and leather in place with them, without pin holes.

Using the clips

Clip the layers of fabric together at the edge instead of piercing them with pins. This is useful for materials where pin holes would stay visible. The back of the clips is flat, so the fabric stays smooth and is easy to guide under the presser foot. Remove the clips, however, before the fabric runs under the presser foot. The scale on the clip lets you gauge the seam allowance in 5, 7 and 10 mm steps. The clips hold layers such as bag handles or piping without distortion and fix quilt binding in place while you sew. They are easy to see, easy to find again and, according to Clover, also suitable for overlocking.
