Stackable ceramic kiln posts – build flexible levels in your kiln

With these stackable ceramic kiln posts, you can build several levels in your kiln and set kiln shelves at different heights. This makes better use of the kiln space when you fire pieces of different sizes at the same time.

Each post has a diameter of 40 mm and a height of 40 mm. As you stack the posts one on top of another, you decide the height of each level: one post for flat pieces, two or more for taller ones.

Setting up a level

Place the posts on a flat surface and lay the kiln shelf on top. For a stable support, you need at least three posts per shelf. Stack the same number of posts at each position so that the shelf lies level and does not wobble. Briefly check the posts for cracks or chips before every firing.

Choosing the height

You choose the height of each level in steps of 40 mm. Plan it so that there is still space above the fired piece and the kiln wall is not touched.
