Ceramic Kiln Posts for Your Kiln – 20 mm More Height for Your Shelves
These ceramic kiln posts (shelf supports) add 20 mm to the stackable and standard posts in your kiln. Each post has a diameter of 40 mm and is 20 mm high. This lets you adjust the space between the kiln shelves to suit your ware, for example when a piece is slightly taller than the existing gap.
Using the posts
Place the ceramic kiln post on a stackable or standard post and rest the kiln shelf on top. This makes the stack 20 mm higher. Use several posts of identical height for each shelf and, before switching on the kiln, check that the shelf sits level and secure. A tilted shelf can topple during firing and damage the ware. Also always place the posts exactly one above the other so that the load is carried evenly downwards.
