Original ORTON pyrometric cones for kilns
Precise temperature control for reliable results
ORTON pyrometric cones are among the most important aids in ceramics and glass processing. These small cones measure the exact temperature in the kiln, helping you achieve consistent firing results. Whether you work with ceramics, porcelain or glass, checking the temperature with ORTON cones helps ensure the quality and durability of the finished piece.
What are ORTON pyrometric cones?
ORTON pyrometric cones are made from a special ceramic compound that softens and bends at a defined temperature. They are designed to measure both the temperature and the heat work in the kiln. ORTON, a leading manufacturer of pyrometric cones, offers cones in various temperature ranges, so there is a suitable model for every application, from low temperatures for glazes to high temperatures for stoneware.
