Clover Tapestry Needles No. 24 – blunt tip and gold-plated eye

Clover tapestry needles No. 24 (art. no. 238/24) are embroidery needles with a blunt tip for wool, thick cotton, embroidery and ribbons on canvas or other coarse-weave fabrics. The set contains 6 steel needles, each measuring 0.76 × 37 mm.

The eye is gold-coloured and elliptical in shape, which makes threading easier. The blunt tip does not split or snag the fibres. That is why Clover particularly recommends this needle for ribbon embroidery.

Working with the blunt tip

A blunt needle does not pierce the thread of the fabric but slides through the existing gaps. You therefore need a fabric with a visible hole structure, such as canvas. Always guide the needle exactly into the gap between the threads, so the fabric stays undamaged and the yarn runs smoothly. In ribbon embroidery, the ribbon pulls through without twisting or splitting if you pass it loosely and flat through the eye.
